Biography

Roy de Kinkelder is a senior project manager/ researcher at the research group of Mechatronics at the Saxion University of Applied Sciences. He is responsible for the management of various projects in the field of collaborative robotics, medical robotics and machine vision. As a researcher at Saxion, he is working on innovative machine vision solutions for industrial and medical care applications. Roy has a master degree in biomedical engineering with a specialization in biomedical optics. He has a PhD in optical diagnostic techniques in ophthalmology, in particular optical coherence tomography, a non-invasive imaging technology. In the Academic Medical Center and Topcon Europe Medical, he developed and tested new imaging techniques for diagnosis of retinal diseases. After completing his PhD, he worked as a project manager at Demcon Advanced Mechatronics for several years.
